Join IAAP Committees and Young Members Club

IAAP is seeking qualified candidates to join its Scholarship and Lectures Committees.

The Scholarship Committee manages the IAAP Annual Scholarship Program, which recognizes the outstanding academic achievements of students of Iranian descent and their excellent service to the Iranian and Iranian-American communities. Responsibilities of the members include preparing announcements, evaluating applications, and selecting IAAP scholars. The anticipated time commitment is around 30 hours per year. The biography of the current members is available at https://iaapdc.org/scholarship-committee/.

The Lectures Committee oversees the IAAP Lecture Series, which aims to create a more inclusive community around science, innovation, and entrepreneurship by bringing speakers to discuss significant scientific advances and professional matters that appeal to a broad cross-section of the Iranian-American community. This platform also allows attendees from different academic disciplines and professions to explore and build on points of affinity. Responsibilities of the members include identifying, approving, and inviting speakers. The anticipated time commitment is around 30 hours per year.

IAAP is also interested in forming a Young Members Club with a mission to serve as a liaison between IAAP and university student organizations, inspire student leadership, assist the Scholarship and Lectures Committees, and explore new areas of growth for IAAP and propose them to the Board.

Interested individuals are requested to submit a résumé and a short statement (200 words max) describing their interest and how it is aligned with the mission of IAAP.

Please email your statement to admin@iaapdc.org by April 30, 2021, and use “IAAP Committee Membership” in the subject line to avoid having your email inadvertently overlooked. Please indicate in your email or statement which Committee/Club you are interested in joining.
